Making the case for carbon pricing

Climate activists feared COVID-19 would distract businesses from efforts to fight global warming. Sustainability consultant Renat Heuberger says the reality was just the opposite. Clients of his Zurich-based company South Pole, which include Lidl and Danone, realized the crises are linked and have reinforced their climate action commitments during the pandemic. He advises companies to factor a carbon price into investment decisions amid growing support for this approach to curbing C02 emissions. “If governments are going to net zero by 2050, it will mean that carbon will have a price.’’
